What education services does IARC provide?

IARC has been a premier education provider in the area of immigration and citizenship law and policy since IARC’s inception in 1986. IARC’s education activities include:

  • Continuing Professional Development (‘CPD’) courses for registered migration agents — designed to ensure that solicitors and migration agents remain abreast of constantly changing migration law and policy.
  • Community Information sessions — non-CPD sessions offered, free of charge, to community service providers/ community groups, to promote community awareness of migration issues and of IARC’s services.

IARC’s CPD’s are subject to the IARC Course Terms And Conditions.

Continuing Professional Development (‘CPD’) activities

IARC runs CPD programs jointly with the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA).

All money made by IARC from these programs is used by IARC to maintain and expand the non-profit migration advice and assistance services provided to socio-economically disadvantaged persons.

Community information sessions

In addition to CPD activities, IARC conducts community information seminars (non-CPD sessions), free of charge, to community service providers/ community groups. The purpose of these seminars is to promote community awareness of migration issues, changes in migration policy and/ or legislation, and of IARC’s services.

If your organisation would like to submit a request for IARC to conduct an information session, please mail, email or fax to IARC a completed IARC Community Information Session Request Form. If your request relates specifically to issues regarding domestic/family violence and Australian immigration law, please complete and submit a Domestic/Family Violence Community Information Session Request Form.

IARC will consider each request received in accordance with its Community Information Session policy, a copy of which is available from IARC on request. Due to limited resources, IARC is unable to provide resources for every request made.
